The Department of Public Works was created in 2005 by combining the Engineering, Building and Code Enforcement Departments into one department.  It is a one-stop shop for all permitting, contracting and constructing needs within the City.  In 2009 the Stormwater Managment Division was added to operate the stormwater collection system and manage the Utility's Stormwater Program, a.k.a. Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4).
