Traffic Commission

The Traffic Commission consists of five members each serving one year terms.  One member is appointed by the City Council.  The remaining members are by title.  The Traffic Commission's duty is to designate and maintain marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway; designate safety zones for the protection of pedestrians; place and maintain traffic control devices and signals when and as required; and regulate and permit taxi cabs within the City (see Chapter 78 Article III).  The Traffic Commission is guided by the current edition of the Indiana Manual on Traffic Control Devices (Indiana MUTCD).
