By the authority of the Unsafe Building Ordinance, the Building Commissioner may call for hearings on enforcement of building standards to protect the public health, safety and welfare in both existing residential and nonresidential structures.

The membership of the Hearing Authority for Enforcement of Building Standards is as follows: 

        3 Mayoral appointments of citizens;

        or, a Senior Judge in current good standing and approved by the Mayor;

        or, a licensed Indiana Attorney in good standing and approved by the Mayor
