This 33-acre park site is located in the southwestern part of the City, along U.S. 6 just east of County Line Road. The Prairie Duneland Trail passes along the southern boundary of the park. Countryside Park is most recognized as the home of the Portage Historical Society and the Al Goin Historical Museum. The museum along with the restored structures of the Trager Homestead, create a farm like setting for visitors to enjoy. Aside from exploring the historical roots of the Portage Community, park visitors may fish in the large pond, walk the nature trails, or take the challenge of Portage's largest sledding hill in the winter.
